A Court of Mist and Fury Book Signing

So I’d say my first time attending a book signing was a complete success! Not only did I get to meet one of my favorite authors but also one of my favorite booktubers Christine Riccio! Let’s talk about it :D

There was a 100 seat max for seating at the event but 250 spots available. To get a guaranteed seat of the 100 you had to buy the book at 9 am that morning because it was first come first serve. Also there was a limit of 3 books and each book got a wrist band. My best friend and I got there at about 8 (LA traffic, I tell ya!) and there was already a line! Even a few people camped out over night!

So finally the line starts moving and once you buy the book you get a wrist band with a letter. Luckily my best friend and I got the second to last wrist band that had an A on it!

The event didn’t start until 6:30 but they started seating at 5:30. Fast-forward to 4:30 and we are back at Barnes and Noble. There is already an unofficial line formed in the store. Eventually they separated us by wrist band color and letter and we finally had our seats.

Sarah and Christine come out and the first thing we talk about is food lol. Sarah loves In n Out burgers. After a while Christine steered the conversation to what we were all there for: A Court of Mist and Fury. Christine had great questions lined up for us and they were hilarious!

A couple of my favorite parts from the night was when Sarah took out her original copy of Throne of Glass and said that whenever she goes to book signings she asks her fans to sign her book too. The other part was when some person left their number on one of the pages and the security guard called the number for her. It was pure awkward hilarity that ensued after that!

Once it was my and Rebecca’s (my best friend) turn to get our books signed we went up there full of excitement. Rebecca had Christine sign her “Book Lion” sweater and I had her sign my kindle and we got a picture with her! Sadly there were no pictures allowed to be taken with Sarah but she was still so nice and she complimented and loved my hair.

All in all it was a great first signing and I seriously can NOT wait for more!

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (mild spoilers)

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin—one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow grows over the faerie lands, and Feyre must find a way to stop it... or doom Tamlin—and his world—forever

This book was amazing! I am so glad I read it! I’d been wanting to read this book for the longest. It’s been sitting on my TBR for months and months. It wasn’t until I found out about the book signing that’s on May 5th that I was pushed to read it.

So I knew I would love A Court of Thorns and Roses because it’s Sarah J Maas. Her Throne of Glass series is one of my FAVORITE series (go read it now!).

When I first started the book it took me a little while to get into it. It always takes me a little while to get into a brand new book where I don’t already know the characters. Once I got into it though, I could not put this book down. The story is based off of Beauty and the Beast but we are in a world that have fairies in it. I don’t usually read books that have a lot of fairies in it but I loved this one.

Our main character is Feyre who gets dragged into the world of the fairies as a consequence of something she has done. The fairy who is responsible for taking her into this world is Tamlin. I enjoyed seeing how their story played out a lot. Although there were times when Feyre was a bit annoying, I still really liked her.

Staying with Tamlin is Lucien and Alis. I realllyyyy enjoyed any scene that had Lucien in it! He is one of my favorite characters from the book.

Although this book is based on Beauty and the Beast, there were a lot of twist and turns for me!

Here is a plethora of feels in gif form:

Overall I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It was amazing, please go pick it up!

By the end of the book there is another character who people ship with Feyre. So Tamlin and Rhysand! I just want to talk a little about where I stand between these ships. I have no idea who I ship! Of course I love Tamlin but Rhysand is interesting. He does bad  things but I feel like he can be redeemed. I say this because of what he did at the end of the book when it came to fighting Amarantha. A lot of the things he did also helped Feyre in some way. I want to get to know him more before I choose but at the moment I am leaning more towards Tamlin!
